02 / Discover our story

It started with a camera, a whiteboard and one idea.

How a small YouTube channel became a coaching brand trusted by 1 Million+ doctors in 50+ countries. Follow along to learn our story.

2017 · The beginning

A YouTube channel with a simple idea

Dr Chirag Madaan had just finished his MD in Anaesthesiology and was working as an intensivist at Apollo Hospitals, Delhi. Together with his wife, Dr Shruti Malik, he started a YouTube channel called Intellect Medicos. The idea was simple: make medicine easy to learn.

The early videos were short and practical. Clinical skills. Procedures. ALS and BLS. How to read an ABG. How to read an ECG. The channel grew because doctors kept saying the same thing: he made complex topics easy.

Setting up the channel, 2017
The teacher India noticed

Six-hour lectures to packed halls

As the channel grew, India's leading medical education platforms invited him to teach in person. He travelled across the country delivering six- to eight-hour anaesthesiology lectures to large audiences. Teaching had become more than a side project. So had his curiosity about medicine.

2019 · The exam

The MRCP changed the direction

After completing his IDCCM, Dr Chirag came across the MRCP. It fascinated him. The exam builds foundational medicine. It teaches the why and the how of a condition, and gives you a structured way to approach and manage a patient. He sat MRCP Part 1 in 2019.

Preparing for it showed him the gap. The resources were outdated. Much of what was online was misleading. The question banks were enormous. By then he was Head of Department for Critical Care at Apollo, the youngest in the hospital's history, and even he could not get through them. He passed on the strength of his clinical experience. Most doctors do not have that option.

Then he posted a video about his MRCP journey. The replies were all versions of one question:

“How can I pass the MRCP while working full-time?”

2019 · The first batch

Fifteen doctors, nearly all of them passed

The Intellect Medicos MRCP Part 1 course was his answer. The first batch had around 15 doctors. Nearly all of them passed. They loved the videos and the PDFs, and they told other doctors.

Batch by batch, the course grew from theory lectures into a full system: weekly mocks, revision sessions, past-question discussions and accountability. The MRCP Part 2 course followed, built on the same structure.

By 2022 · Half a million

Growth by word of mouth

Intellect Medicos grew mostly by word of mouth. Every batch sent the next one. As awareness of the MRCP spread across India and the Gulf, the channel grew with it. By 2022 the YouTube channel had passed 500,000 subscribers and millions of views. Instagram and the other channels followed.

2022 · The decision

A newborn, and the hardest decision

Two full courses, running three or four times a year, on top of a full-time job leading an ICU. Then, on 31 August 2022, Chirag and Shruti were blessed with a beautiful boy, Praansh Madaan. It changed their lives.

Three weeks later, on 22 September 2022, Dr Chirag made the decision to leave clinical practice and teach full-time. Leaving a senior hospital post is not a small thing, professionally or financially, and there was plenty of resistance. Dr Shruti was the one who made the decision possible. She had been the backbone of the channel's growth from the start. She structured the MRCP course, built the Intellect Medicos website and set up the systems that let a two-doctor team run a growing business. With her support, he took the leap.

Today Dr Shruti runs the business alongside him and works as a mindset coach. Inside our courses she takes the mindset and accountability sessions: how to manage exam anxiety, how to prepare your mind for exam day, and how to stay accountable to your goals when a rota gets in the way.

The Pastest partnership

An invitation from the UK

The Pastest team came across the channel, watched the teaching style and the growth, and got in touch. They wanted a recorded MRCP Part 1 course on their platform. They invited Dr Chirag and his family to the UK and offered him the role of Course Director at Pastest. The Pastest MRCP Part 1 course launched, was very well received, and still runs today.

2023 · A student joins the faculty

The doctor who struggled with Part 1

In 2023, a young doctor who was struggling with MRCP Part 1 got in touch with Dr Chirag. He joined Intellect Medicos as a student. He passed. Then he joined the faculty. His name is Dr Mustafa Baig.

Dr Baig has taught at Intellect Medicos since 2023. He moved to the UK, worked as a locally employed doctor in the NHS, and completed his MBA in 2024. Today, alongside teaching, he runs the day-to-day operations of Intellect Medicos: course structure, new course launches, sales and marketing. Dr Chirag then brought him in to record the MRCP Part 2 course videos for Pastest, and to co-teach the two-day live MRCP Fast Track revision workshops in the UK.

03 / How we teach

“Learning made easy” is a method, not a slogan.

Four things every Intellect Medicos course is built on.

01

First principles, not surface facts

We teach the why and the how of a condition, so the answer is something you understand, not something you memorised the night before.

02

Pattern recognition for the exam

Every topic ends in real MRCP-style questions. You learn how the examiner asks, and why each wrong option is wrong. That matters as much as the right one.

03

Structure around your rota

Recorded theory in the week. Live past-question class on Saturday. Live mock on Sunday. Miss a class? It is on the app the same day.

04

Accountability and mindset

A community that notices when you stop, and mindset sessions for exam day. Doctors rarely fail this exam for lack of knowledge. They fail for lack of structure.

07 / Questions people ask about us

Straight answers.

Intellect Medicos was founded by Dr Chirag Madaan, a critical care specialist, and Dr Shruti Malik, an anaesthetist. It began as a medical education YouTube channel in 2017 and grew into MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 coaching. Dr Mustafa Baig, an NHS Internal Medicine doctor, joined the faculty in 2023 and now runs day-to-day operations alongside teaching.

We think so, but judge us on evidence rather than opinion. Across the 2025–26 diets our MRCP Part 1 pass rate has run at roughly 88–92% and Part 2 at 92–94%, with 50–70 doctors sitting each diet. Students rate us 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot, across 97 reviews. Our founder is Course Director at Pastest, and our faculty teach Pastest's MRCP Part 1 revision workshops in the UK. Reviews in students' own words are on our Wall of Fame and on Trustpilot. If you want the figures for your specific diet, ask us and we will show you the data.

Intellect Medicos was founded in Delhi, India, and now has faculty in both India and the UK. Our courses are taught online, so doctors join from the NHS, India, the Gulf, Africa, Europe, the Far East and the Americas: 50+ countries so far. We also run in-person revision workshops in the UK, Dubai and India.

Dr Chirag Madaan is the main faculty for both MRCP Part 1 and Part 2. Dr Mustafa Baig, an NHS Internal Medicine doctor, teaches on the courses and leads the UK-facing teaching. Dr Shruti Malik takes the mindset and accountability sessions. They are supported by a faculty of practising doctors who write the questions, run the weekly mocks and revision classes, and answer questions in the community.

They are separate companies that work together. Pastest approached Dr Chirag Madaan after seeing his teaching on YouTube and appointed him Course Director; his recorded MRCP Part 1 course is available on the Pastest platform. Dr Chirag and Dr Mustafa Baig also teach Pastest's two-day MRCP Part 1 Fast Track revision workshops in the UK. The Intellect Medicos live courses, Q-Bank and community run on our own platform.

A question bank is a tool. Intellect Medicos is a system with people in it. Instead of 5,000+ mixed questions, you get 150 hand-picked, updated questions per subject, recorded theory to learn from first, a live past-question class every Saturday, a live mock every Sunday, a revision plan for the final weeks, and faculty and a community who notice if you stop. Most doctors who fail the MRCP do not fail for lack of knowledge. They fail for lack of structure, and that is what we provide.

Today we run MRCP Part 1 and MRCP Part 2 Written courses, in-person revision workshops and free monthly webinars. We are building structured courses on the same method for MRCP PACES, MRCPCH, MRCS and MRCP Ireland.
